Playwright Peter Knight is under pressure. Isolating himself in a gothic mansion, he slowly churns out his muder mystery. A freak electrical storm allows his stock characters to come to life. Unfortunately for Peter, he completely loses control of the plot. Murder banishes the stock characters back to limbo: the waiting room for all imaginary creatures. Who is next to die? Could it be Peter?

Nick is a single Italian-American guy from New Jersey. His parents wisely retired and moved to Florida but that doesn't stop Nick from seeing his family every Sunday for dinner. Both sets of grandparents still live in the neighbourhood and dote on their grandson. Opportunity presents itself to Nick in the form of a great job. Unfortunately, that would mean moving across the country to Seattle. Can't Frank, Aida, Nunzio and Emma do anything to stop him?
